Lara's Story
I'm a forty something mom of three with a global perspective, having lived and worked in Zimbabwe, the UK, and Canada. Experiencing lots of change and shifts throughout my life has taught me the value of self compassion and letting go of perfectionism, which I still need to remind myself of everyday.
I approach being a practitioner in the same way, in that I support my clients as a steady co-pilot, meeting them where they are and helping them find sustainable ways to feel better without pressure or perfection.
My journey into the world of health and nutrition began in my mid-20s, a few years after moving to England from my home country, Zimbabwe. At the time, I was the heaviest I had ever been. I felt constantly tired, foggy, and anxious; running on sugar, refined carbs, and caffeine just to get through the day. I was often unwell and didn’t realize how much of it was connected to what I was eating.
After seeing a nutritionist and personal trainer, everything changed. I was amazed by how just a few diet and lifestyle changes could transform my energy, mood, and overall health. That experience opened my eyes to the incredible power of nutrition, and I knew then that I wanted to help others experience the same transformation.


Health is a Journey
A few years later, I enrolled in the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nutritional Therapy degree program at the University of Westminster in London, England, where I discovered functional medicine, an approach that looks at the root causes of symptoms rather than just managing them.
Now, more than 10 years since graduating, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients in the UK, Southern Africa, and Canada.
In February 2025, I enrolled in a 14 month practitioner training and mentorship program to deepen my knowledge and refine the way I support clients. This ongoing learning has enhanced my ability to approach each case with more precision, compassion, and curiosity.
My Education and Path in Functional Nutrition
As a mom of three, I understand how challenging it can be to prioritize your health while caring for everyone else. I believe there’s no “perfect” formula for wellness, your journey is uniquely yours.
My role as a functional nutritionist is to be your co-pilot: to listen, guide, and help you decode the signals your body is sending. Together, we’ll make sense of the conflicting information out there and create a plan that fits your lifestyle, preferences, and long-term goals. I believe that we are always evolving, and so should your health journey.

My mission is to help you understand your body, uncover the why behind your symptoms, and empower you with the knowledge and tools to take back control of your health one small, sustainable step at a time.
